I saw ten and up on the age not because of of it not being appropriate but because they will enjoy it more at an older age. Also if you are considering this series I would recommend having your kids read the other series (PJO & HoO) first so they will be familiar with the characters and have a deeper connection with them. Just remember how great the role models are in this book.
